Welcome to Mikumi Safari Tours. These Terms & Conditions govern the use of our website and the booking and provision of our safari and travel services. By making a booking with Mikumi Safari Tours, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Our Services
Mikumi Safari Tours provides safari and travel experiences in Tanzania, including private safaris, group safaris, fly-in safaris, wildlife tours, and other related travel services.
The exact services included in your safari will be stated in your quotation, itinerary, invoice, or booking confirmation.
2. Safari Quotations
All quotations are based on the information available at the time of quotation and are subject to availability.
A quotation does not constitute a confirmed booking.
Prices may change before confirmation due to changes in accommodation rates, park fees, airline fares, transportation costs, taxes, fuel prices, exchange rates, or supplier charges.
A booking becomes confirmed only after the required deposit has been received and the booking has been confirmed by Mikumi Safari Tours.
3. Booking Confirmation
A safari booking is confirmed once:
- The itinerary and services have been agreed upon.
- The required customer information has been provided.
- The required 30% deposit has been received.
- Mikumi Safari Tours has confirmed the booking.
Submitting an inquiry through our website, email, WhatsApp, or another communication channel does not by itself constitute a confirmed booking.
4. Deposit and Payment
A 30% deposit is required to secure your safari booking.
The deposit allows us to reserve accommodation, transportation, flights, park services, and other arrangements included in your itinerary.
The remaining 70% balance must be paid in full no later than 30 days before the scheduled safari start date.
For bookings made less than 30 days before the safari start date, the full balance may be required at the time of booking to secure the requested services.
If the remaining balance is not received by the required deadline, Mikumi Safari Tours reserves the right to cancel the booking and apply the applicable cancellation and refund terms.
Any bank transfer fees, payment processing charges, or other transaction costs are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Prices
The price of your safari is based on the services specified in your quotation or booking confirmation.
Once a booking has been confirmed, the agreed price will normally remain applicable.
However, additional costs may apply if the customer requests changes, additional services, upgraded accommodation, additional travelers, or changes to the confirmed itinerary.
6. Cancellation by the Customer
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email or WhatsApp.
The refund available to the customer will depend on the date of cancellation and the costs already committed to third-party suppliers.
The 30% deposit may be non-refundable where it has already been used to secure accommodation, flights, park fees, transportation, permits, or other services that cannot be recovered.
Any refund will be calculated after deducting applicable non-refundable costs and cancellation charges.
Please refer to our Cancellation & Refund Policy for detailed cancellation and refund conditions.
7. Changes to a Booking
Customers may request changes to their safari, including travel dates, accommodation, transportation, itinerary, number of travelers, or other services.
All changes are subject to availability.
Additional charges may apply where the requested changes increase the cost of the safari.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate customer requests but cannot guarantee that every requested change will be possible.
8. Cancellation by Mikumi Safari Tours
In exceptional circumstances, Mikumi Safari Tours may need to cancel or substantially modify a safari.
Where possible, we will offer an alternative travel date or comparable arrangement.
If cancellation occurs due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, our obligations will be limited to the extent permitted by applicable law and the amounts recoverable from relevant third-party suppliers.
9. Changes to the Safari Itinerary
Safari itineraries are planned carefully but may need to be changed because of:
- Weather conditions
- Road conditions
- Wildlife movements
- National park regulations
- Accommodation availability
- Flight schedule changes
- Safety considerations
- Government restrictions
- Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control
Where an itinerary change is necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative arrangement of similar value and quality.
10. Accommodation
Accommodation listed in a safari itinerary is subject to availability.
If the specified hotel, lodge, camp, or other accommodation becomes unavailable, Mikumi Safari Tours may arrange a comparable alternative.
Any significant accommodation change will be communicated to the customer as soon as reasonably possible.
11. Flights and Transportation
Where flights are included in a safari package, they are subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant airline.
Flight times, routes, and schedules may change because of weather, operational issues, technical problems, air traffic, or other circumstances.
Mikumi Safari Tours will assist customers where reasonably possible but cannot guarantee airline schedules.
12. Travel Documents
Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have all required travel documents, including:
- A valid passport
- Visa or entry requirements
- Travel permits where applicable
- Travel insurance
- Other documents required for the journey
Customers must provide accurate information when making a booking.
Mikumi Safari Tours is not responsible for losses resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer.
13. Travel Insurance
Customers are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance before travelling.
Insurance should ideally cover medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, trip interruption, lost or damaged baggage, travel delays, and other travel-related risks.
14. Health and Special Requirements
Customers should inform Mikumi Safari Tours before booking of any special requirements that may affect the safari, including dietary requirements, allergies, mobility requirements, or other relevant needs.
Customers are responsible for determining whether they are medically fit to participate in safari activities and travel.
15. Wildlife and Safari Risks
Safari activities take place in natural environments and involve inherent risks.
Wild animals are unpredictable and wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Customers must follow the instructions of their safari guide and comply with all national park rules and safety requirements.
Mikumi Safari Tours is not responsible for incidents resulting from a customer’s failure to follow safety instructions or applicable park regulations.
16. Customer Conduct
Customers are expected to behave respectfully toward safari guides, drivers, staff, local communities, wildlife, accommodation providers, and other travelers.
Mikumi Safari Tours reserves the right to terminate a customer’s participation in a safari if their behavior:
- Creates a serious safety risk.
- Is abusive or threatening.
- Is illegal.
- Seriously disrupts the experience of other guests.
- Violates national park or accommodation rules.
In such circumstances, no refund may be provided and any additional costs resulting from the termination may be the customer’s responsibility.
17. Personal Belongings
Customers are responsible for their personal belongings, valuables, passports, travel documents, electronic devices, and luggage during the safari.
Mikumi Safari Tours is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
18. Third-Party Service Providers
Some services included in our safari packages may be provided by independent third parties, including:
- Airlines
- Hotels and lodges
- Camps
- Transportation companies
- Restaurants
- National parks
- Other tourism service providers
These providers may have their own terms and conditions.
We will make reasonable efforts to work with reliable service providers, but we cannot control circumstances directly caused by independent suppliers.
19. Force Majeure
Mikumi Safari Tours will not be responsible for delays, cancellations, losses, or additional costs resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics, government restrictions, strikes, civil unrest, road closures, park closures, airline disruptions, or other unforeseen events.
Where reasonably possible, we will assist customers in finding alternative arrangements.

23. Complaints
If you experience a problem during your safari, please inform your guide or Mikumi Safari Tours as soon as reasonably possible.
Giving us the opportunity to address an issue while the safari is in progress may allow us to resolve the matter more effectively.
Formal complaints should be submitted in writing as soon as reasonably possible after the relevant event.
